U17 SAHA men’s team carries two wins into weekend

The South Alberta Hockey Academy’s U17 men’s team heads into the weekend in winning fashion.

SAHA won their first two of four games in four days, winning 5-2 Thursday against St. George’s School and blanking the Wenatchee Wild Hockey Academy 5-0 on Friday.

Cole Fisher led the offence with a goal and two assists, with Jack Elliott, Kingston Chisholm and Ty Hynes notching a goal and an assist each. Steven Wawryk made 32 saves for the win.

In the shutout win Friday, Thomas Papas made 23 saves for his first shutout of the year.

Fisher and Hynes each had two goals and an assist, Ty Wasyluk had SAHA’s other goal. Elliott notched three helpers in the victory.

SAHA’s U17 team faces off against the U17 Northern Alberta Xtreme White on Saturday and the Indigenous Sports Academy’s U17 team on Sunday.

SAHA’s U18 men’s team hosts the Calgary International Hockey Academy on Saturday at the Big Marble Go Centre for a 3:15 p.m. contest.

The women’s U18 team hosts the Edge School on Sunday for a 5:15 p.m. contest at Big Marble Go.
