QMJHL roundup: Wildcats score four in third period to sink Sea Dogs 6-2

SAINT JOHN, N.B. – Vincent Collard scored two goals and added an assist as the Moncton Wildcats scored four third-period goals beat the Saint John Sea Dogs 6-2 in Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League action on Sunday.

Thomas Auger, Preston Lounsbury, Miles Mueller and Etienne Morin had the other goals for the Wildcats (24-8-2-3). Goaltender Jacob Steinman stopped 27 shots for the victory.

Pavel Simek and Egan Beveridge had the goals for the Sea Dogs (14-19-3-3), while Justin Robinson made 33 saves.

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Lou-Felix Denis scored 4:17 into overtime to give the visiting Halifax Mooseheads a 3-2 victory over the Charlottetown Islanders.

Markus Vidicek and Mathieu Cataford scored in regulation for the Maritimes Division-leading Mooseheads (25-11-4-1).

Ross Campbell and Giovanni Morneau replied for the Islanders (17-19-2-1).

QUÉBEC CITY, Que. – The visiting Shawinigan Cataractes scored three unanswered goals in the third period to beat the Quebec Remparts 4-1.

Daniel Agostino scored for the Remparts (14-23-2-0).

RIMOUSKI, Que. – Maxime Coursol’s power-play goal at 11:48 of the second period stood up as the winner as the Rimouski Oceanic edged the visiting Baie-Comeau Drakkar 3-2.

Jacob Mathieu scored twice for the Oceanic (20-17-3-0), while Charle Truchon chipped in with two assists.

Justin Gill scored twice for the East Division-leading Drakkar (33-5-2-0).
