A large religious convention will return to Co-op Place in Medicine Hat this June.
Officials with Jehovah’s Witness Canada told the News on Thursday they have booked their 2024 regional convention on June 21-23 in the Hat.
The group previously booked the city’s large spectator arena for the 2020 regional convention, but was forced to postpone due to the COVID pandemic.
Two separate weekend conventions went ahead in June 2023 with each attracting about 4,500 attendees.
The group holds about 50 such conventions each year around the world. The local gathering is a regional gathering for church members in Alberta, Saskatchewan and parts of British Columbia.
This year’s theme will be “Declare the Good News!” and will feature scripture readings, presentations and interviews.
