Renato Franchetto Memorial Tennis tournament completes 10th year

sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The Medicine Hat Tennis Club hosted the 10th annual Renato Franchetto Memorial Tennis tournament this past weekend. A total of 24 players competed in two divisions at the weekend memorial tournament dedicated to longtime tennis club member Renato Franchetto. Next year, the tournament will return to its previous name of the Winter Tennis Classic. In the open division, Kerry McDowell and Peter O’Driscoll defeated Rocheal and Darren Howes 8-1 CoraLeem and Kevin Riehl defeated Lyle Garrecht and David Schnare 8-7 in the consolation final. In the intermediate division, Lilly Laurent and Emilee Krushel defeated Gary Laurent and Randy Deminick 8-4. In the intermediate consolation, Briar and Jess Ferris defeated Leanna Koch and Sheena Steinkey 8-6. 7-6
