RCMP Roundup: Another ATM theft in SW Sask.

Another automatic teller machine has been stolen in southwest Saskatchewan, RCMP in Shaunavon report.

Two weeks ago a stolen front-end loader was employed to smash into a credit union branch in Burstall.

RCMP detachment in Shaunavon reported that at midnight on Dec. 30, two culprits attached chains to an ATM in a local

business then dragged it away with a stolen truck.

One suspect wore all black and the other a blue and green plaid jacket with light-blue jeans and a red hooded sweatshirt.

The truck and the emptied machine were recovered by police on a rural road west of the town.

Shaunavon continue to investigate. Anyone with information should call the detachment at 306-297-5550.

Booze stolen

Mounties in Gleichen are looking for three culprits who took about $2,000 in merchandise from a liquor store in the town on Dec. 21.

The break and enter occurred at the Gleichen Hotel and Bar and was caught on security footage of the attached liquor outlet.

Three unknown individuals with dark hooded sweatshirts, including one with “Playboy” bunny logos, are now being sought.

Copper theft

An off-duty Calgary cop driving near Drumheller reported suspicious activity to local Mounties on Dec. 30, leading to the recovery of a large amount of copper wire stolen from a compressor site.

RCMP in Drumheller say their officers were tipped to a white Nissan pickup that had left an oilfield site near Highway 573.

Bryan Burrill, 73, of Carbon, Alta., is charged with breaking and entering, mischief, possession of a weapon, drugs and contraband cigarettes, along with driving without insurance.

He is due to appear on the charges in Drumheller Jan. 26.
