sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The first name announced for the Medicine Hat Mavericks 2024 roster is a familiar one. The Mavs announced Monday via social media that third baseman Nathan Tarver will return to the red, white and black for the 2024 summer. The Phoenix, Ariz. product played in 56 regular season games last summer, with 54 hits, 38 RBIs and four home runs while batting .280. “Tarv is a first-class human and a first-class baseball player – I’m thrilled to have him back in the Hat for 2024,” returning head coach Kevin Mitchell said in a release. “His work ethic is second to none, and I expect him to once again be a big piece for us this year.” The Mavs’ 2024 season gets underway May 24 at Moose Jaw against the Miller Express. 8
