The Cubs were away from the Hat for contests this weekend, opening with a 2-1 shootout loss Friday at Okotoks against the Bisons. Lucas Salikin scored Medicine Hat’s lone goal in the loss with Keynan Cairns and Callan Prosofsky picking up the assists. Tyler Wakelam was between the pipes for the start, making 33 saves. Kyle Woolridge and Brady Mahar each scored in the shootout. The Cubs were at Mountainview on Saturday and lost 3-1 against the Colts. Prosofsky scored the Cubs only goal with Darnell Glasgo and Hayden King notching the two assists. Wakelam started the game and made 22 saves, Medicine Hat outshot the Colts 39-25. The Cubs (12-2-2) are back in action Friday when they host the Strathmore Wheatland Kings at the Kinplex for an 8:30 p.m. contest. They’ll also host the Sylvan Lake Wranglers on Sunday for a 3 p.m. match. 8
