QMJHL Roundup: Justin Carbonneau stars in shootout as Armada edge Sagueneens 2-1

BOISBRIAND, Que. – Justin Carbonneau was the lone scorer in the shootout as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada edged the Chicoutimi Saguenéens 2-1 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Xavier Sarrasin had a goal in regulation time for Blainville-Boisbriand (7-5-1).

Goalie Charles-Édward Gravel made 23 saves through overtime and turned away all three skaters he faced in the shootout.

Alexis Morin scored for Chicoutimi (5-6-2), while goalie Mathys Fernandez stopped 26 shots.

The Armada couldn’t score on their three power plays and the Sagueneens went 1 for 4 with the man advantage.

REMPARTS 3 TITAN 2

BATHURST, N.B. – Daniel Agostino put away the third-period winner as Quebec edged the Titan.

Carl-Anthony Massé and Pier-Etienne Cloutier also scored for the Remparts (4-8-0).

Robert Orr and Milo Roelens supplied the offence for Acadie-Bathurst (6-7-0).

WILDCATS 5 SEA DOGS 2

MONCTON – Yoan Loshing struck twice as the Wildcats defeated Saint John.

Miles Mueller, Preston Lounsbury and Vincent Collard rounded out the offence for Moncton (9-3-1).

Danny Akkouche and Peter Reynolds had goals for the Sea Dogs (4-5-3).

MOOSEHEADS 6 ISLANDERS 2

CHARLOTTETOWN – Markus Vidicek and Jordan Dumais had two goals apiece as Halifax topped the Islanders.

Brody Fournier and Mathieu Cataford had the other girls for the Mooseheads (8-4-1).

Giovanni Morneau and Cole Huckins replied for Charlottetown (7-6-0).

TIGRES 5 CATARACTES 2

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. – Tommy Cormier scored and added two assists as the Tigres bested Shawinigan.

Maxime Pellerin, Justin Gendron, Egor Goriunov and Nikita Prishchepov rounded out the attack as Victoriaville (7-4-2) extended its point streak to six games.

Maxim Barbashev and Félix Lacerte had the goals for the Cataractes (7-4-1).

DRAKKAR 6 OCÉANIC 3

RIMOUSKI, Que. – Justin Gill scored twice as the Drakkar sailed past the Océanic.

Jabez Seymour, Matyas Melovsky, Justin Poirier and Niks Fenenko also scored for Baie-Comeau (10-2-2).

Quinn Kennedy, Alexandre Blais and Dominic Pilote replied for Rimouski (8-5-1).

PHOENIX 2 EAGLES 0

SHERBROOKE, Que. – Samuel St-Hilaire and Mathys Routhier combined for a shutout as the Phoenix blanked Cape Breton.

Maxime Côté and Lewis Gendron supplied the offence for Sherbrooke (6-5-1). St-Hilaire made 19 saves and Routhier stopped all three shots he faced.

Goaltender Jakub Milota kicked out 24 of 25 shots for the Eagles (8-6-0).

HUSKIES 7 OLYMPIQUES 3

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. – Bill Zonnon scored twice as the Huskies routed Gatineau.

Leighton Carruthers, Dyllan Gill, Anthony Turcotte, Louis-Philippe Fontaine and Antonin Verreault also chipped in for Rouyn-Noranda (7-3-3).

William Labranche scored twice and Nathan Lévesque had a goal for the Olympiques (3-9-2).
