Medicine Hat Tigers rookie Gavin McKenna will represent Canada for the first time in his young career. The 15-year-old forward was named to Hockey Canada’s red roster for the U17 World Hockey Challenge held No. 2-11 in Charlottetown and Summerside, P.E.I. McKenna leads the Tigers with five goals and 17 points through 12 games in his WHL rookie season. He is second in WHL rookie scoring while sitting 14th overall in the entire league, the youngest player on both lists. Canada Red’s tournament begins Nov. 2 against Finland at 7 p.m. and will face Canada White in the lone all-Canadian matchup in the preliminary round on Nov. 3. 5
