The Twinkle Star Project Inc. has expanded to the Medicine Hat area and is looking for volunteers. Operating in Regina since 2017, Twinkle Star offers support for those who have experienced baby loss.

Each board member has direct experience of this tragedy. Twinkle Star is a not-for-profit organization providing services to bereaved families in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

“We understand firsthand how difficult it is to cope with the loss of a baby. Our goal is to offer comforting and supportive services to those who are experiencing the same pain we once felt.” said Alberta committee member Vanessa Braun. “We provide mementos and care packages to help bereaved families cope with the loss and remember their little ones. We believe it’s important to let them know that they’re not alone in their grief.”

Expanding to Alberta in 2019, Twinkle Star offers support to most hospitals and health-care centres in the province. The group provides resources and mementos to women and families who have suffered the loss of a baby.

Volunteers are needed for Twinkle Star’s basket project to handcraft, knit or crochet baskets for mementos. They also need volunteers to join the Alberta committee and provide support to its Alberta initiatives. Volunteers help make a difference to those affected by baby loss and raise awareness of this important issue.
