The CP Holiday train will be later than usual pulling in to Medicine Hat, but will be carrying hometown country singing star Mackenzie Porter along with Dallas Smith when it arrives on Dec. 19.
The schedule for the railway’s annual fundraising set of stops was released this week and also shows an expanded North America route after a merger with U.S.-based Kansas City Southern railways.
The “Canadian train” will begin travelling west from Maine on Nov. 21 and reach the Pacific Ocean on Dec. 19 after taking a northern route through Alberta.
The “U.S. train” bound for Medicine Hat will arrive in Canada from North Dakota on Dec. 17, then head in the southern prairies. It will be in the region two days later with stops in Swift Current, Maple Creek, the Hat (at 3:15 p.m.), then Tilley, Brooks and Gleichen.
