Medicine Hat Cowboy Poetry Foundation to host day of fun Oct. 7

Cowboy poetry and musical performances are on the agenda as the Medicine Hat Cowboy Poetry Foundation gathers Oct. 7.

Country, folk, gospel and bluegrass performer Eli Barsi will headline the evening performance at the Medicine Hat College Theatre, with Nanton, Alta. comedian John Glawson, also known as Ol’ Ugly.

Speaker, musician and poet Shelley Goldbeck of Innisfail will MC the event, and add some performance to the evening show that begins at 7 p.m.

A free afternoon portion runs from noon to 5:30 p.m. and will include local singers and poets.

A $20 chuckwagon supper will follow featuring beef stew and biscuits with pie afterward.
