The Cubs (3-0) took both road games this weekend, winning 4-2 Friday at Airdrie over the Techmation Thunder and beating the Three Hills Thrashers 5-2 on Saturday. Medicine Hat was led Friday by Jacob Hazzard who scored two goals, with Jamal Shaw and Callan Prosofsky each adding a goal and an assist. Keynan Cairns had three assists and Dominik Jagielski made 26 saves. The Cubs had a balanced offence in Saturday’s win, with Shaw’s two goals supplemented by markers from Makhai Carriere, Kyle Woolridge and Perret Harty. Prosofsky registered two assists and Dimitrius Virostek made 21 saves for the victory. Next up for the Cubs is the home opener Saturday when they host the Rocky Rams at the Kinplex and celebrate the franchise’s 50th season. The Cubs will have an alumni game before the home opener game, which gets underway at 4 p.m. The contest against the Rams starts at 7:30 p.m. 9
