Hat Lawn Bowling hosts cash tourney

sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The Medicine Hat Lawn Bowling Club held its annual year-end cash tournament. This year, the club tried an Aussie Pairs Tournament, which means the lead throws the first two bowls and the last two bowls, whereas the skip bowls the middle four. Players then switch positions for the next end. Teams were redrawn after each game so players were able to play with someone different each time. The winners were determined by adding up everyones aggregate scores. For the ladies, Barb Moll finished first with 37 points, while Joyce-Ann Bacon finished second with 28 and Jean Bresee third with 25. On the men’s side, Wes Bresee took the top spot with 32 points. Cave Starling was second with 31 and Mike Gilchrist took third with 29. The club finishes up the season this week with the men’s singles championships and the pairs finals. 8-7
