Several events in Medicine Hat to finish off the summer

Summer in the city is extending into September with warm weather and a number of events on the calendar.

A list of special events for those looking to get out and about:

– Art in Motion will feature a number of events from Towne Square to the Esplanade along First Street downtown, including the Lt.-Gov. Alberta Arts Awards at the Esplanade (4-6 p.m.), a non-profit fair at Towne Square as well as the Mustard Seed’s “Harvest Takeaway,” along with bandstand featuring local artists and headliner Hawksley Workman (on stage at 7:30 p.m.);

– A Women in Business Fair is set for Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Stampede’s auditorium room;

– A free-of-charge clothing swap at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Sierra Blvd., will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday;

– The Terry Fox Run returns to Medicine Hat on Sunday with the community event on the Rotary Trail at the Medicine Hat College campus starting at 10:30 a.m.;

– The Bryan Adams concert at Co-op Place on Sunday night;

– Pride Week at Medicine Hat College campus gets underway with events from Sept 18-22;

– The Women’s Shelter Society AGM goes Tuesday afternoon at the Esplanade;

– Further ahead, the Western Hockey League season opener for the Tigers is on Sept. 23 at Co-op Place.
