A new school year is around the corner and many families and school staff find themselves getting ready for the daily routine once again.
While families make sure their children have the school supplies needed for the new year, get them back into an early bedtime routine and prepare themselves to begin making lunches every morning, school staff have started to trickle back into their workplace to make sure they are ready to welcome their students to their second home.
For the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division, part of their preparation for the new school year involves taking part of their opening mass, and today the entire staff will be gathered at Catholic Central High School East campus for mass officiated by Bishop William McGrattan.
Following the mass they will be presenting their Share the Mission Awards and having lunch.
On the other hand the Lethbridge School Division will be gathering their staff members at Chinook High School on Friday morning to welcome them back with a breakfast.
School is officially back in session on Sept. 5 after the Labour Day long weekend and the same day the harmonized school and playground zones take effect around schools, where speed is reduced to 30 kilometres per hour from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, including weekends.
