And they’re off!: Pancakes start flipping in anticipation of Stampede

And they’re off – the string of pancake breakfasts leading up to the Medicine Hat Stampede, that is.
Crowds grew at the Homestead Market, located off Gershaw Drive, after 8 a.m. on Friday as the first large breakfast in the city was held ahead of next week’s Stampede festivities.
Two other breakfasts are planned by local businesses on Saturday, then Monday onward as the exhibition grounds open on Wednesday, the parade is set for Thursday in the downtown. The annual Summer Jam concert kicks off the week at the grandstand on Monday evening.
On Saturday, the “Be Gluten Free” market at 939 Kingsway Avenue is advertising breakfast for the first 500 Hatters beginning at 7 a.m.
The MH Brewing Company will host a breakfast until 11 a.m. at its location near Rotary Centennial Way (23rd St, NW).
Other notable breakfasts include Medicine Hat College on Monday (beginning at 8 a.m.), Hillcrest Church on 13th Ave. on Tuesday, the Kiwanis Club-Medicine Hat Lodge breakfast on Wednesday, along with the Premier Best Western event on the same day, then Earls on Dunmore Road on Thursday, and the Co-op breakfast on Friday at the 13th Avenue food store.
