Saturday’s race was the second annual Dean Wakshinsky memorial race, honouring the former driver who passed away in July 2021 and was a big part of every race at the speedway. Ethan Guest won the standard Jeep Ram hobby stocks race with Les Woods coming in second and Shane Goldie finishing third. The Davis GMC elite streets race was won by Les Neigum. Curtis Bigelow came in second place and Art Paetkau finishing third. Jesse Voeler won the Just Smok’n V6 race, finishing ahead of second place Marcus Hieb and third placer finisher Adam Faulks. Dave Deschner took first place in the Relay/SJ trucking baby grand race with Sarah-Jo Paquette coming in second place ahead of Brian Statham in third. The mini cup race was won by Chase Stiezehart who finished ahead of Beryls McKay in second and Rhett Pearce in third. The next race at the Speedway is the Border Challenge Invitational, held is July 22, featuring Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks, V6 and Baby Grands. 10
