A third player from the 2022-2023 Medicine Hat Tigers has received an invite to compete at an NHL Development Camp this summer.
It was announced Friday that Tigers defenceman Dru Krebs would be taking part in the Florida Panthers development camp starting this weekend.
Krebs joins the Panthers camp after a career season in the Western Hockey League, playing 67 games while accumulating eight goals and 41 points. In his WHL career, Krebs has played in 211 games with 15 goals and 84 points.
This invite marks the third development camp for Krebs, who spent the previous two summers with the Washington Capitals.
Washington drafted Krebs in the sixth round, 176th overall in 2021. The Capitals did not sign the Okotoks product this offseason, making him an NHL free agent.
Krebs joins fellow defenceman Josh Van Mulligen and forward Oasiz Wiesblatt as Tigers to receive development camp invites.
Van Mulligen took part in the Edmonton Oilers camp this weekend and Wiesblatt had a little bit further to travel, attending the Columbus Blue Jackets camp.
