Mavericks lose head coach to Pioneer League

Medicine Hat Mavericks will see a new head coach at the helm starting today. Mavs’ head coach Mark Goodman has accepted a pitching coach job with the Colorado Rocky Mountain Vibes of the Pioneer League. Goodman joined the Mavericks from a pitching coach role at the Colorado School of Mines, a D2 NCAA school. The Mavs played to a 12-12 record under Morrison, not including Monday night’s game at Athletic Park against the Moose Jaw Miller Express his final contest in Medicine Hat. Mavs assistant coach Kevin Mitchell will take over as head coach while assistant Chad Martin and owner/general manager Greg Morrison will fill in on the bench until a new assistant coach is found. The Mavericks are back in action Tuesday for a double header in Regina against the Red Sox. 6-5
