The Medicine Hat Lawn Bowling Tournament held its third annual Dave Dennis Memorial tournament Saturday.
The tournament is a singles competition but instead of competitors staying in their rinks, players can set the mat and throw the jack in any direction, allowing for throws to rollin front of someone else also rolling in another direction.
There were nine competitors and all entry fee money was donated to the Margery E Yuill Cancer Centre in Dave Dennis’ memory.
On the ladies side, Barb Moll went undefeated in the round robin and playoffs to take the gold medal over Jean Bresee, winning 10-6. The win gives Moll her second straight championship. Linda Bower defeated Roz Fisher 8-3 to take the bronze.
On the men’s side, Mike Gilchrist also took his second championship in a row, winning 11-7 over Frank Buck. Curt Moll beat Wes Bresee 11-2 to take the bronze.
