Medicine Hat police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual believed to be connected to a Tuesday-morning arson.
Police and fire responded to a property on Day Street at roughly 3 a.m. after receiving reports of a trailer on fire, the damage from which is estimated to be $23,000.
While searching the scene, police found evidence suggesting there had been several unsuccessful attempts to ignite a truck and other items located on the property.
Security footage from around the time of the incident shows a Caucasian male at the scene, whom police are now looking to speak with.
The male is believed to be in his early-to-mid 20s and was wearing black cargo pants, a white ‘Vans’ T-shirt with a picture of the Grim Reaper holding three boxes of pizza on the back, a white hoodie, cream-coloured Chuck Taylor high-top sneakers and a black Carhartt ball cap.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police online or through the Medicine Hat Police Service app, or submit an anonymous tip via Crime Stoppers.
