The 18U club hosted the Calgary Premier Blues for a four-pack of games split between Saturday and Sunday and finished the weekend at 1-3. The Monarchs dropped both games on Saturday, losing 10-4 in the first contest and dropping a close 8-7 battle in the second game. The Monarchs then bounced back for an 11-10 win on Sunday before closing out the weekend with a 9-1 loss. Trevin Ressler opened the game on the mound for the Moose Monarchs and pitched five innings with five strikeouts. Parker Hunt worked the remaining two innings, notching two strikeouts. Ressler also had an impact at the plate driving in two runs on one hit, Jeff Bullock added two hits. In the Monarchs second game of the day, Bullock pitched 4.2 innings with three strikeouts. Waylan Wilson and Kayne Olinski worked the remaining 2.1 innings out of the bullpen, picking up a combined two strikeouts. Bullock led the way offensively in that loss with three RBIs and two runs scored on four hits. Graceon Little, Hunt and Olinski each added an RBI as well. Tyler Straarup was on the mound in the Monarchs 11-10 win on Sunday, as he pitched 3.1 innings with four strikeouts. Cade Moch struck out three batters in 1.2 innings of relief. Stone Davis and Hunt worked the remaining two innings, with the latter notching a strikeout. Offensively the Monarchs were led by the entire lineup, drawing 11 walks and having eight batters with a hit. Ressler had two RBIs in the win. The Monarchs lost their final game of the weekend against the Blues 9-1. Evan Morrison started the game and registered four strikeouts in his 3.2 innings of work. Olinski worked 2.1 innings on the mound with two strikeouts and Fischer Haysom pitched an inning of relief with a strikeout. Morrison also had two hits in the game, Watson registered Medicine Hat’s lone RBI. 13
