sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews Five South Alberta Hockey Academy players have been nominated for Canadian Sport School Hockey League awards this season. SAHA goalie Maddy Ferguson received a nomination for top U18 female goaltender and Kendal Davidson has been nominated for the CSSHL’s top female defender for the second year in a row. Ferguson had a record of 10-5-0 with two shutouts this season, putting up a 2.25 GAA and a .934 save percentage. Davidson led SAHA on the back end, with 13 goals and 21 points in 26 games. From SAHA’s men’s team, defenseman Matthew Paranych was nominated for the U18 top defenceman award, forward Gavin McKenna is a nominee for U18 MVP and local product and SAHA forward Ryan Miller was nominated for the U18 top freshman award. Paranych had seven goals and 32 points in 29 games. McKenna led the league in scoring with 37 goals and 75 points in 26 CSSHL games. Miller, in his first CSSHL season, had 13 goals and 35 points in 31 games. 7
