ELLA LOOK

1934 ~ ELLA LOOK ~ 2023
Ella Maria Look of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Erwin Look, passed away on Friday, March 24th, 2023 at the age of 88 years.  Ella leaves to cherish her memory her children, Lorie (Terry) Krauss of Red Deer, AB and their children Emily (Graeme) and Sarah (Josh) ; Beverly (Don) Sept of Medicine Hat and their children, Alissa (Matthew) and Robyn (Mike); Rick Look (Annalise King) of Medicine Hat and their children, Dustin, Dylan, and Sarah; and Randy (Melissa Hilmoe-Look) Look of Airdrie, AB and their children, Matthew and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Jett, Bennett, Austin, Scout, Lenae; brothers, Erich (Pauline) Hintz and Manfred (Doylene) Hintz; sisters, Alma Hintz, Anita (Ted) Walker, and Lillie Jetter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  Ella was predeceased by her parents, Samuel, and Olga Hintz; loving husband Erwin Look; brothers Helmut Werner, Arnold Hintz, Gerhardt Hintz and Hans Hintz; and sister Emma Weige.  Ella was born in Leipzig, Germany on December 18th, 1934, one of eleven children born to Samuel and Olga Hintz.  After moving to Canada she met, and married, Erwin Look.  Ella was an extremely dedicated and hard-working housewife and mother.  She raised her four children, all whilst maintaining a job outside of the home, working at Gene’s Bakery, then the Co-op Bakery until her retirement. She was an exceptional wife and mother and she cared very deeply for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ella was an excellent cook and she very much enjoyed hosting family dinners; her home was always filled with the laughter of family and friends.  Before Erwin’s passing, they would sit outside their family home in the warm summer evenings and gather the neighbours around to visit. Ella kept a beautiful and bountiful garden harvesting peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers and potatoes that she loved to share with her family. Ella loved to play cards with her children and grandchildren, and later on with all of her friends at Chinook Village. Ella was blessed with a strong faith and was a long- time member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where she was actively involved in church functions as part of the Ladies Aid. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Thursday, March 30th, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at ST. PETER LITHERAN CHURCH, 758 – 8th Street SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1M5 on Friday, March 31st, 2023 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Shane Hein officiating. LAURENCE JOSEPH BONNEVILLE

LARRY BONNEVILLE July 20, 1940 March 22, 2023
Laurence Joseph Bonneville “Larry” of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 22, 2023, at the age of 82 years.
Larry is survived by his immediate family: his wife of 56 years, Kay Bonneville; his daughter Leah (Wayne) McBurnie of the Gold Coast, Australia and grandchildren Callum, Meeghan and Vanessa; his son Sean (Vanessa) Bonneville of Medicine Hat, and grandchildren Mitchel, Allyson, Emilie and Danial; and his son Bryce Bonneville of Scottsdale, Arizona and grandchildren Cole and Evan.
Larry is also survived by numerous extended family and their children, and his siblings: Yvonne (Donny) Michnik; Marie (Morris) Pawliw; Louis (Brenda) Bonneville and Paul (Sylvia) Bonneville; and all of their numerous children and grandchildren.
Larry spent his childhood in Glaslyn, Saskatchewan before moving to Turtleford, Saskatchewan in grade 11 to play hockey. Larry then went to Teacher’s College and started working as a radio announcer to pay for his education. Larry taught in Turtleford, Saskatchewan before returning to University in Saskatoon to get his degree.
Upon completion of his University degree, Larry continued working in radio at CKCK in Regina, where he met the love of his life, Kay Bonneville. Larry spent the rest of his life with Kay and built his entire life, family and career with Kay. They remained inseparable for the rest of his life.
Larry started his teaching career shortly after graduation and married Kay in 1966. Larry and Kay moved to Medicine Hat in 1974, where they grew their family and their careers. Larry taught for several years at St. Francis Xavier School in Medicine Hat before he went on to have a successful career with the City of Medicine Hat before retiring in 1999.
Larry spent his retirement golfing, snow-birding, hiking, playing and listening to music, gardening, visiting family and friends and of course travel with many trips to Australia and Arizona. Larry spent his retirement generally being the happiest and most active retiree anyone has ever met. In particular, Larry enjoyed taking every possible opportunity to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 31 from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm at the Medicine Hat Golf & Country Club where incidentally, Larry got 2 holes in 1 (of his 3 total in life)!!!
