Twist and Flip Gymnastics competes over weekend

The Medicine Hat Twist and Flip Gymnastics club was in action over the weekend on the road.

The club was split between two Women’s and Men’s Artistic Gymnastics competitions taking place on Friday and Saturday.

Five female athletes from Twist and Flip attended the Hay City Classic in Olds.

Myla Aberle (10) competed at level 1 and finished tied for 10th all-around. She also tied for first place in the vault competition, took seventh on the floor, 12th in beam and 20th in uneven bars.

Tenley Aberle (9) finished in second place all-around at Level 3. She finished second in the beam, third on the floor and fourth place in both the uneven bars and vault. Lauren Pancoast (9) was fourth place all-around with a first place in the beam, fourth on the floor, sixth in vault and seventh in uneven bars. Adrianna Dewar (9) also competed at Level 3, finishing 11th all-around. She was fifth in the beam, seventh in vault, 10th in uneven bar and 12th on the floor.

Evan Stinson (8) finished fifth all-around after taking third on the beam and fifth places on the floor and in uneven bars. She finished seventh in vault.

Five male athletes from Twist and Flips attended the first ever Grizzly Classic in Airdrie.

Isaac Mwaura (8) took ninth all-around in the Provincial 1A level. He finished third on the floor, tied for fourth in high bar, fifth in parallel bars, ninth in rings, 12th in vault and 14th in pommel horse.

Cade Bonneville (14) finished sixth all-around in provincial 1D. He took first place in parallel bars, finished second in both high bar and pommel horse and finished fifth in rings. He did not register scores on the floor or in vault.

Lukas Young (12) finished fifth all-around in provincial 1C after tying for fourth in pommel horse and high bar while also finishing solo fourth in rings. He took seventh on the floor and was tied for 11th in vault.

Ian Mwaura (10) was 13th all-around in the provincial 1B level. He took 11th in both on the floor and in vault. He was 12th in pommel horse, 13th in both parallel bars and high bar and finished 15th in rings.

Jonathan Cayen was 15th all-around at the provincial 1A level. He tied for fourth in high bar and took eighth on the floor. Cayen was 13th in rings, 16th in vault and parallel bars and took 17th in pommel horse.
