sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The South Alberta Hockey Academy men’s U18 team bounced back from a slow start to their playoffs. SAHA dropped their first contest of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League playoffs, losing 5-4 Tuesday night against RHA Winnipeg Kadon McCann, Brayden Sumner, Gavin McKenna and Sammy Hynes scored in the loss for SAHA with Zach Zahara between the pipes (shot totals were not recorded). The local hockey academy bounced back in their second game, beating St. George’s School 5-2 Wednesday afternoon. McKenna led the way offensively with three goals and an assist in the win. Kade Duell had a goal and two assists himself Ryan Miller scoring on a power play for SAHA’s winning goal. Ethan McCallum made 26 saves for the victory. The SAHA men’s team plays Friday as they look to try to earn a spot in the quarter finals. Their placing and opponent was not decided by press time. SAHA women drop falls in quarter-finals The SAHA women’s team lost 4-1 Wednesday afternoon against Shawnigan Lake School to bow out in the final four after going a perfect 3-0 in the round robin. Kendal Davidson had SAHA’s lone goal and Maddy Ferguson made 31 saves in the loss. 11
