Forwards Keller, Crosby, Marner named NHL’s three stars of the week

NEW YORK – Arizona right-wing Clayton Keller, Pittsburgh centre Sidney Crosby and Toronto right-wing Mitch Marner have been named the NHL three stars of the week.

Keller led the NHL with nine points (four goals, five assists) in four games to power the Coyotes to a 3″‘0-1 week.

He opened and ended the week with a pair of three-point performances. He had a goal and two assists in a 6-2 win over St. Louis on Tuesday and two goals, including the winner, and an assist in a 5-4 overtime win over Minnesota on Sunday.

Keller has points in five straight games (four goals, six assists) dating to March 5.

Crosby recorded two game-winning goals and added five assists over four contests to lift the Penguins back into the first wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference following a 3-0-1 week.

The highlight of his week came Tuesday with an overtime goal and two assists as Pittsburgh rallied from a 4-0 deficit to beat Columbus 5-4.

He now has 20 career overtime goals, second only to Washington’s Alexander Ovechkin (25) on the NHL’s all-time list.

Marner had two goals and four assists in two games to help the Maple Leafs post a pair of wins.

His week included a goal and three assists in a 7-4 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday.
