1926 ~ ISABEL LISKE ~ 2023
Isabel Liske of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Victor Liske, passed away on Sunday, February 19th, 2023 at the age of 96 years. Isabel leaves to cherish her memory her children, Vic (Sandy) Liske and Doris (Robert) Volk; grandchildren, Scott (Jessica) Liske, Jennifer Bilodeau, Amy (Scott) Makepeace, Terry Volk, and Cody Liske; great-grandchildren, Cooper Grisak, Kelsey Lafont, Emily Volk, Alyssa Makepeace, Jordan Volk, Sophia Makepeace, Brooklyn and Bowen Bilodeau and Devyn, Lauryn, Kaylee, and Maya Liske; great-great grandchildren, Maddox Volk and Sofiya Lafont; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Isabel was predeceased by her husband, Victor; parents, Joseph and Sofiah Cacko; brothers, José, Henrique, Bruno and Emilio; and sisters, Emilia, Appolonia, and Eugenia. Isabel lived a long, full life and was an exceptional wife, mother, and grandmother. She cared very deeply for her family and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She kept her family in Brazil in her thoughts and made sure to reach out to them and kept close relationships with them all, holding them close in heart. Everything Isabel did, she did with love and as such she will be fondly remembered and deeply missed for her “green thumb” and love of gardening; her love of nature, in particular, animals, sunrises and sunsets; her amazing ardour for cooking delicious meals and desserts that she served everyone with love; her enthusiastic dancing; as well as her contagious laughter. Isabel faithfully believed in Angels and found comfort in knowing that they were watching over her and her loved ones. The family are forever grateful to the nurses and support staff at Meadowlands and St. Joseph’s Home for the care and support provided to Isabel in her last years. For those wishing to honour Isabel’s life and family, the Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Monday, February 27th, 2023 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Shane Hein officiating. 1935 ~ LAVENE SURINA ~ 2023 Lavene Surina of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late John Surina, passed away on Sunday, February 5th, 2023 at the age of 87 years. Lavene leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Linda Surina-Parsons (Hiram); son, Perry Surina; grandson, Hiram Timothy Parsons; and brother, Henry Kundert (Kay). Lavene was predeceased by her husband, John Surina; parents, John and Ella Kundert; sons, Timothy and Greg Surina; brothers, Albert, Emil, and Eddie Kundert; and sister, Tena Friesz. Lavene was an excellent cook especially of German food. She also excelled at gardening and had a green thumb and an incredible garden. She was the life of the party and had an amazing singing voice. Lavene loved to travel and was a shopaholic when she went to the States. She also enjoyed playing bingo with her sister, Tina. VIOLET WALLACE 1938 ~ 2023 Violet Bernice Wallace (nee Ott) was born in Fox Valley, SK., on January 5, 1938, and passed away in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the age of 85 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Allen; sons, Rob and Mark as well as her sisters, Myrtle van Wert of Calgary, Jean McMackin of California and Lorrie Bennet of Calgary. Vi worked for Medicine Hat School District No. 76 for many years before retirement. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Cremation has taken place. MARINA HAUSAUER 1959 ~ 2023 HAUSAUER, Marina Jane of Redcliff Alberta, beloved wife of Fred Hausauer passed away suddenly after a courageous battle with cancer on February 15, 2023, at the age of 64 years.
Marina was born on January 5, 1959, in Climax Saskatchewan to Wesley and Mary Bailey. Marina grew up in Shaunovan, Saskatchewan with her four sisters and two brothers. Marina spent her career working in retail and spent her final 22 years working at Redcliff Home Hardware. She will be forever known as the glue that held everyone together and her knowledge and skill was sought out by many. Marina loved to craft and crochet baby blankets for all the new arrivals. She was a regular Jill of all trades. Marina treasured time with her family and motorcycle trips with Fred, she especially loved her pets and her grandsons.
Besides her loving husband Fred, Marina is survived by her two children Kendell Hausauer and Javan Hausauer; her grandchildren Tyne and Trystin Miller; her father, Wesley (Judy) Bailey; four sisters, Carol (Edward) Hass, Valarie (Glen) Morey, Debbie (Ian) McConnell and Nicole Kirkpatrick; her two brothers, Clifford (Michele) Bailey, Jason Bailey and special family Jody (Jesse) Arnold and their children Ava, Ashlin, Sophia and Dillion as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Marina was predeceased by her mother Mary Bailey and nephew Richard Hass.
The family has requested everyone in attendance wear purple, her favorite colour. MARGERY LINDERMAN 1927 ~ 2023
Margery Violet Linderman of Medicine Hat passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at the age of 95 years. She leaves to cherish her memory two children, Terry (Darrel) Dola, Keith (Karen) Linderman and one son-in-law Gary Pahl. She also leaves to cherish her memory four grandchildren, Jennifer (Marc) van Ewijk, Nolan (Cortney) Pahl, Daniel Linderman and Thomas Linderman; two great grandchildren, Daxon Pahl, Nash Pahl and her nieces and nephews and their families. Margery was predeceased by her husband Archie on June 1, 1991, one daughter Judy Pahl on April 15, 2017, one sister Anne Kisinger as well as her special friend Almer Reichel. Margery was born September 28, 1927 on the family farm near Schuler. She attended school in Schuler and as a young woman ventured to Medicine Hat. She met Archie and they were married on July 16, 1950, in Medicine Hat where they made their home and raised their family. ERMA ADAMS 1925 ~ 2023 A gracious and generous lady has left this earth for a happy reunion with her deceased family and friends. Erma Mae Adams (nee Bryanton) passed away at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat, on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the age of 98 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Delmar in 2008 and her daughter, Elaine in 2018. Erma will be forever missed by her children, Valerie (Jim), Clayton (Diane) and Nancy (Wayne) along with her five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Erma was a lady of grace, elegance, and kindness. She was raised on a beautiful farm in PEI, thus grew her love for horses, animals, gardening and flowers. Most of all, Erma loved and lived for her family, always fair to everyone and ready to share her wit and wisdom. The family wish to thank Dr. Wong and his staff for the many years of compassion and care; to Dr. Majeed and the staff at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice for their kindness and support.
