THOMAS BROWNE


THOMAS BROWNE May 25th, 1952 – January 29th, 2023 Thomas Roy Browne passed away suddenly but peacefully on the morning of January 29, 2023, at age 70. He was predeceased by his parents, Roy & Elizabeth Browne. Tom’s memory will be cherished by his brother, Jim (Cathy) and sister, Margaret (Wayne); as well as his beloved nieces and nephews, Jason (Eliese) and their children Rose and Russell, Heather (Patrick), Garrett (Megan) and their son Nicholas, Carlene (Matthew) and their children Riley and Rhett. In addition to the caring staff of Masterpiece Southland, Tom was privileged to have the love and support of companions from Extended Family Services. We are eternally grateful to EFS staff for their dedication to Tom’s quality of life.
A private interment to honour Tom will take place in spring. LINDA FRANZ


1954 ~ LINDA FRANZ – 2023 Linda Gail Franz of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023 at the age of 68 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Greg Franz (Lorrie); sister, Holly Franz (Ray Goodfellow); nephews, Daniel (Leila) and Stuart (Lena) Goodfellow; nephew, Kevin Franz and his son, Tristan Franz; niece, Tara Brown (Blake) and her children, Kaycee Brown, Tanner Baumgarten, Jaden Baumgarten (Garret) and Jaden’s daughter, Brixley Wilson. Linda was predeceased by her parents, Emanuel and Nina Franz and brother, Ernest Franz. Linda will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. BERNAND PETERSON


BERNAND PETERSON 1934 – 2023 Bernand Peterson of Medicine Hat passed away on Sunday February 5, 2023, at the age of 88 years, beloved husband of the late Carolina Peterson. He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Ronald (Peggy) Peterson and Dale Peterson; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Kyle) Stanko, Adam (Ashley) Peterson, Kenny (Shelagh) Peterson, Heather (Tyler) Gosnell, Christopher Peterson and ten great grandchildren. Bernand was born on June 30, 1934, to Kay and Myrtle Peterson in Medicine Hat, Alberta. He was raised in Bow Island and in 1950 left school to start farming. He then attended SAIT in Calgary to study agriculture mechanics. On November 3, 1951, he married Carolina Winder and they lived in Bow Island before moving to the family farm the next spring. In 1965, they purchased their farm and built the farmstead they lived on until retirement. While farming Bernand was one of the first farmers to start no-til farming and proved it increased production. Upon retirement, they moved to Redcliff and eventually Medicine Hat. Bernand was a longtime member of the B.P.O. Elks in Bow Island and Medicine Hat Woodcarving Club; he also enjoyed playing pool with his buddies from Encore. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday evening from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend officiating.
