QMJHL roundup: Dumais hat trick lifts Mooseheads over Oceanic

HALIFAX – Jordan Dumais scored three goals to lead the Halifax Mooseheads past the Rimouski Oceanic 6-1 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play Sunday.

Brody Fournier, Attilio Biasca and Evan Boucher had the other goals for the Mooseheads (35-7-4-2), while goaltender Mathis Rousseau stopped 15 shots.

Julien Beland had the lone goal for the Oceanic (26-22-1-1). Gabriel Robert stopped four of the eight shots he faced while Patrik Hamrla made nine saves.

EAGLES 4 ISLANDERS 1

SYDNEY, N.S. – Ivan Ivan had a goal and an assist to lead the Cape Breton Eagles to a 4-1 win over the visiting Charlottetown Islanders.

Jacob Newcombe, Cam Squires and Samuel Johnson had the other goals for the Eagles (19-26-2-1).

Michael Horth scored for the Islanders (17-26-4-1).

BLAINVILLE-BOISBRIAND, Que. – Maximilian Streule’s third-period goal lifted the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada over the Val-d’Or Foreurs 5-4.

Mikael Denis, Justin Boisselle, Xavier Sarrasin and Thomas Paquet also scored for the Armada (19-24-5-2), while goalie Charles-Edward Gravel stopped 26 shots.

Charles-Antoine Beauregard, Louis Robin, Zachael Turgeon and Antoine Lagace countered for the Foreurs (19-29-2-0).

PHOENIX 5 HUSKIES 1

SHERBROOKE, Que. – Israel Mianscum scored twice to lead Sherbrooke PhÅ“nix to a 5-1 victory over the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies.

Jakub Brabenec, Cole Huckins and Ethan Gauthier had the other goals for the Western Conference-leading Phoenix (33-12-3-2). Goaltender Olivier Adam stopped 26 shots.

Thomas Verdon had the lone goal for the Huskies (28-16-3-3). Goalie Thomas Couture stopped 24 shots in a losing cause.

DRAKKAR 5 SAGUENEENS 2

CHICOUTIMI, Que. – Marc-Antoine Séguin scored twice as the Baie-Comeau Drakkar tipped the Chicoutimi Sagueneens 5-2.

Charles-Antoine Dumont, Vincent Collard and Félix Gagnon also scored for the Drakkar (21-26-3-1).

Fabrice Fortin and Felix Bedard scored for the Sagueneens (26-23-2-0).
