QMJHL roundup: Roy scores twice as Phoenix beat Armada 5-1

SHERBROOKE, Que. – Joshua Roy scored twice, Jakub Brabenec chipped in with two assists and the Sherbrooke Phoenix defeated the visiting Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 5-1 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action on Saturday.

Justin Gill, Milo Roelens and David Spacek also scored for the Phoenix (30-12-2-2), who led 2-0 after the first period and 4-0 heading into the third.

Theo Lemieux scored for the Armada at 14:52 of the third period. The Armada (17-23-5-2) were outshot 39-17.

MOOSEHEADS 4 EAGLES 1

HALIFAX, N.S. – Markus Vidicek scored twice and Jordan Dumais chipped in with two assists as the Halifax Mooseheads grounded the visiting Cape Breton Eagles 4-1.

Josh Lawrence had a goal and assist, and Zachary L ‘Heureux scored once for the Mooseheads (32-7-4-1).

Cam Squires scored for the Eagles (16-25-2-1), who outshot the Mooseheads 24-23.

TIGRES 3 ISLANDERS 2 (OT)

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. – Frederic Brunet scored 21 seconds into overtime as the Victoriaville Tigres clipped the visiting Charlottetown Islanders 3-2.

William Veillette and Maxime Pellerin also scored for the Tigres (29-12-1-3).

Owen Hollingsworth and Lucas Romeo scored for the Islanders (16-24-3-1).

SEA DOGS 7 WILDCATS 3

MONCTON, N.B. – Pavel Simek scored twice and added an assist as the visiting Saint John Sea Dogs whipped the Moncton Wildcats 7-3.

Nico Laforge and Cole Burbidge also scored twice for the Sea Dogs (16-27-1-1), while Brady Burns netted a single.

Yoan Loshing, Thomas Auger and Miles Mueller scored for the Wildcats (22-19-0-2).

DRAKKAR 6 HUSKIES 3

ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. – Vincent Collard and Charles-Antoine Dumont each scored twice, and Julien Lanthier chipped in with two assists as the visiting Baie-Comeau Drakkar tipped the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies 6-3.

Felix Gagnon and Matthew MacDonald also scored for the Drakkar (18-25-3-1).

Thomas Verdon scored twice and Bill Zonnon netted a single for the Huskies (26-15-3-3).
