sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The Medicine Hat U13AA Hounds went an even 1-1 on the weekend. They opened the slate with a 5-3 loss on Saturday against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Gage Bowal, Chase Droeske and Gibson Studer each had a goal and Bryden Tschritter made 25 saves in net. On Sunday the Hounds got back in the win column, beating the Bow Valley Timberwolves 9-4. Droeske led the way offensively with three goals, Carter Jarvis potted two with Beckham Girletz and George Maser each adding a goal and an assist. Everett Ward and Trevin Ibach each had a goal and Carter Gilchrist had three assists in the win. Paxton Smigelski made 37 saves. The U13AA Hounds (14-5-5) host the Wheatland Braves on Sunday. U15 The U15AA South East Athletic Club Tigers also split their weekend contests, falling 6-4 Friday against the Okotoks Oilers before beating the Golden Suns 8-2 on Saturday. In Friday’s loss Brody Dick had two goals, Mavric Ward added a goal and an assist and Logan Neuls found the back of the net for a goal. Kayden Van Ham made 25 saves. Against the Golden Suns, the Tigers had six different multi-point efforts, with Liam Green scoring two goals with an assist, Lucas Dulle with a goal and two assists, Rhyder Arnold with two goals, Owen Fisher with a goal and an assist and Karter Kurpjuweit contributing three helpers with Ward registering two assists. Ethan Grad and Neuls each also scored and Van Ham made 34 saves in the win. The U15AA Tigers (4-16-4) have two games this weekend, facing the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday before hosting the Wheatland Warriors on Sunday. U16 The U16AA Hounds went 1-1 on their weekend, beating the West Central Panthers 8-3 on Saturday before falling 11-2 on Sunday against the CRAA Gold. In Saturday’s win Austin Murphy, Nolan Sutherland and Colby Motz each had a goal and an assist while Logan Weiss, Owen Gustafson, Jaxon Scrivener, Grady Heduc and Ty Wasyluk each had a goal. Park McLaughlin made 38 saves for the victory. Against the CRAA Gold on Sunday, Ty Hanson and Motz each had a goal while Adam Ranger and McLaughlin split duties in net making a combined 45 saves. The U16AA Hounds (9-6-5) are in Lethbridge facing the Hurricanes on Friday before visiting the Airdrie-Bow Valley Havoc on Sunday. U17 The U17AAA SEAC Tigers pieced up a point over the weekend, tying the Okotoks Oilers 1-1 on Saturday before losing 4-1 against the Calgary Bulls on Sunday. Treyson Girletz had the Tigers only goal and Kayne Wright made 36 saves in 65 minutes of action. In Sunday’s loss against Calgary, Cash Olson had the Tigers lone goal with Kolter Gans and Wright making a combined 34 saves. The U17AAA Tigers (7-8-2-3) face the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday before hosting the Calgary Flames on Sunday. U18 The Medicine Hat U18AA Hounds beat the West Central Tigers 6-2 on Saturday before losing 4-1 on Sunday against the CRAA Blue. Hayden King led the way offensively with two goals and two assists, Jacob Hazzard added two goals and an assist and Gavin Smith had a goal and two assists. Kaden Paulson had a goal, Connor Palmer picked up four helpers and Brendan Wereley had two assists himself. Silas Currie made 40 saves in the win. In the Hounds 4-1 loss, Wyatt Bower scored the only Medicine Hat goal and Tyler Wakelam made 40 saves. The U18AA Hounds (9-12-2) are in Lethbridge on Sunday to face the Hurricanes. 30
