The Rattlers hosted the University of Alberta-Augustana on Friday and beat them in four sets (25-12, 25-20, 22-25, 25-19). Jordan McKee had 17 kills for MHC, Nathan Chernik had 10. The Rattlers women’s team lost in three straight sets to Alberta-Augustana (25-20, 25-13, 25-20). The Rattlers men’s (2-11) and women’s (5-8) have a home and home series with Briercrest college at the Snake Pit Friday before hitting the road on Saturday. Basketball The Rattlers men’s basketball team dropped their first two games of January, losing 90-84 against Ambrose University on Friday and 88-82 on Saturday. Friday night at the Snake Pit, Cooper Ward led the way offensively for MHC with 31 points and 14 rebounds. In Saturday’s road loss, Ward had 26 rebounds and 27 points. Ethan Robinson also had 23 points. The Rattlers women’s basketball also fell in both of their games against Ambrose, losing 90-47 on Friday and 78-41 on Saturday. Morgan Novik led the way offensively Friday with 14 points. Grace Kitenge had 12 points on Saturday. The Rattlers men’s (8-4) and women’s (0-12) have two road games this weekend in Briercrest. 9
