Historical Society to honour the late Allan Jensen at upcoming ‘show and tell’

The Medicine Hat Historical Society will open its 2023 program of events with a “show and tell” evening at the Esplanade in honour of past president Allan Jensen on Jan. 26.

Jensen, who died two years ago, was a longtime society volunteer who was especially fond of the event which asks members to bring and discuss artifacts from their own collections.

All are welcome to the attend the 7 p.m. event at the Esplanade Studio Theatre. Annual memberships are available at a cost of $10.

The society also noted in a press release that the new program co-ordinator will be Bruce Sheppard, the retired curator of the Esplanade Museum and Archives.

A presentation on the ghost town of Dauntless, near Medicine Hat’s southern boundary, is planned for an upcoming meeting.
