Newell County adopts ‘caps and hats’ policy

https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews Anyone conducting business with Newell County council may now be instructed to remove their hat, according to an updated policy adopted earlier this month. The “caps and hats in council chambers policy” was originally adopted in 2008, requiring all persons entering council chambers during a session. Changes this month extend the provision to committee meetings or other meetings at the discretion of the chairman. The “no hat” requirement does not extend to headwear of religious or cultural significance. 5-4
