Winter break finally begins for students

The winter break is starting for students in all three school divisions of Medicine Hat and region. The Medicine Hat Public School Division has classes finishing today at noon. One of the frequently asked questions on the webpage for the division’s calendar is regarding why the winter break was extended further into January. The answer states, “Staff and family feedback showed us that the majority would like the winter break to extend further into January as opposed to having more days off before Dec. 25.” Students in the Medicine Hat Catholic School Division had their last day on Thursday, with staff coming back in for a professional development day on Friday. Prairie Rose School Division will be giving all students an early dismissal of 2 p.m. today. School resumes for all three divisions on Monday, Jan. 9. 6-5
