York Regional Police Chief Jim MacSween says officers were called to the building at 7:20 on Sunday evening in response to a shooting in progress.

He says police found five people dead at the scene he described as horrendous.

MacSween says the suspected shooter was killed during an interaction with an officer, noting Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit would be looking into what took place during that exchange.
