Former mayor Ted Grimm’s funeral is set for Saturday

Flags at city facilities will remain at half-staff until after the funeral for former mayor Ted Grimm on Saturday.

Grimm died Dec. 10 at the age of 86.

He will be remembered at a memorial service at 11 a.m., on Dec. 17, at Pattison’s Funeral Home in Medicine Hat.

The service will also be broadcast on the internet via links from the mortuary’s website.

An obituary in the News asks that donations in lieu of flowers be directed to Doctors without Borders or the Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society.

Grimm served seven consecutive terms between 1980 to 2001 as Medicine Hat’s top elected official. He also served two terms as alderman before first winning the mayor’s chair in 1974.
