PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – A pair of first-period goals from Caden Brown lifted the Prince George Cougars to a 5-2 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors in Western Hockey League action on Wednesday. Brown added an assist for the Cougars (13-9-0), while Chase Wheatcroft, Riley Heidt and Noah Boyko also found the back of the net. Ryder Korczak contributed a goal and a helper for the Warriors (13-9-0) and Lucas Brenton rounded out the scoring. Prince George’s Ty Young stopped 19-of-21 shots and Connor Ungar made 41 saves for Moose Jaw. — BLAZERS 6 AMERICANS 1 KENNEWICK, Wash. – Caeden Bankier scored twice as Kamloops (10-4-3) thrashed Tri-City (8-13-0) and stretched its win streak to three games. Winterhawks netminder Dante Giannuzzi stopped 24-of-26 shots. — TIGERS 6 OIL KINGS 1 MEDICINE HAT, Alta. – Edmonton (4-18-1) opened the scoring midway through the first period, but Medicine Hat (7-10-5) stormed back with six unanswered goals to rout the visitors. Oasiz Wiesblatt led the Tigers in scoring with a goal and an assist. — ICE 3 HURRICANES 2 WINNIPEG – Zach Benson put away the game-winning goal 5:16 into the third period as Winnipeg (21-2-0) edged Lethbridge (12-10-1).
