There were eight different age groups who ran in Saturday’s race, with runners from multiple running clubs and schools in Medicine Hat. In the U6 girls 1,000 metre race, Naomi Vis finished first as the only runner. Gray Ross (Ross Glen PS) finished first in the U8 girls 1,000 m race ahead of Quinn Wever (Panthers) and Annika Vis. Lennox Studer (Panthers) won the U8 boys 1,000m race ahead of fellow Panthers Owen Hamilton and Atlas Fichter. The U10 girls 1,000 m was an all Panthers affair with Tessa Vis finishing first ahead of Parker Craig and Chloe Vis. Oliver Fichter (Panthers) won the U10 boys 1,000 m race ahead of GW Murray (Bulldogs) and Reid Hamilton (Panthers). Myra Murray (Bull Dogs) was the first place finisher of the U12 girls 2,000 m race finishing ahead of Addison Ross (Ross Glen) and Cannon Hilgendorf (Panthers/River Heights). The U12 boys 2,000 m race was won by Andrew Vis (Panthers) with Jack Galikas (Panthers/Seven Persons) and Ryan Ruddock (Panthers/Margaret Wooding). Navada Murray (Bull Dogs) was the lone runner in the U14 girls 2,000 m race. In the U14 boys 2,000 m race Odin Jordet (Panthers) took first place ahead of Finn Pasco (Bulldogs) and Jensen Hersey (Panthers). The U16 women’s 4,000 m was won by Ember Jacober (Panthers), who finished ahead of Megan Klein (Panthers) and Emilia Hernandez (CHSS). Edward Hicks won the U16 men’s 4,000 m ahead of Jake Collier (MHHS) and Landon Kreuger (Panthers). The U18 women’s 4,000m race was all Hat High runners as Julia Bassas finished first ahead of Giulia Uliana and Marie De Ceasare. Askia Tahirou (Panthers) finished in first of the U18 men’s 4,000 m race ahead of Tristan Scrimger (Panthers/CHHS). Juliette Gracin (MHHS) and Henry Noel (MHHS) were the only runners in the women’s and men’s U20 4,000 m races. From Aug. through Oct., the Panthers 45 club athletes competed in the MHC community race, EBHS community race, the XC Invitational and some are gearing up for Athletics Alberta cross country provincials, Nov. 5 in Calgary. 17
