The 2022 Southeastern golf tournament hosted by Connaught Golf Club came to a close Monday afternoon, capping off a strong weekend of golf.
The 89th annual Labour Day weekend tournament featured 128 golfers, the largest class the course has had in over 10 years, Connaught CPGA pro Brian Oliphant told the News heading into the weekend.
Celina Lamb took home the ladies championship after shooting 79, 80 and 80 and after facing off against Becky Martin in a playoff round. Martin was the winner of the 2021 Southeastern.
On the men’s side of the tournament, Ryan Werre was placed first after shooting a tournament-best opening round of 69 followed up with a 72 and 73. Werre won the Southeastern in 2021.
Jordan Forsythe finished in second place with two rounds of 72 and a final round score of 77.
Glen Erickson was the senior men’s champion, shooting 74, 73 and 77 on the weekend to capture the top spot. Gary Kavanaugh came in second place with scores of 78, 73 and 74.
