Charges pending after passenger flees with vehicle during traffic stop

https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews Mounties in Maple Creek say a passenger jumped in the driver’s seat of a car they had pulled over and sped away with a three-year-old in the back on Sunday night. The latest summary of RCMP activity in the province states the rural detachment responded to a call of stolen gas at 9:10 p.m. on Aug. 21, pulled over the vehicle, and arrested a 21-year-old female for allegedly driving while impaired. While police were working, however, they say another occupant got behind the wheel and left the scene. The vehicle was found at 3 a.m. the next morning at a business east of Regina by White Butte RCMP officers. The child was found safe. Charges are pending. 6-5
