1989 – IAN DEERING – 2022
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Ian Kenneth John Deering, of Medicine Hat, on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the age of 33 years. Ian will be greatly missed by his father, Donald Deering, his sisters, Jasmine Deering (Cory Petryna), Heather Deering, Melanie Deering, Angela Deering (Ken Laxton) and Sabrina Batten (Preston Bilokraly); his nieces and nephews Cody, .Sebastien, Belle, Auria, Brady, Kassidy, Ashton, Maddox, Mercedes; and his fur friends, Roxxy and Zoe. He was predeceased by his mother Donna Batten; grandparents, Joyce and John Deering and Elsie Batten. Ian was born on July 29, 1989 in Medicine Hat. Ian worked most of his life as a general labourer. He loved playing acoustic guitar and sharing his amazing voice while singing. Some of his many strengths were shown through his love for his family. He was a great listener, he loved to cook and was very good at creating fancy dinners when given the opportunity but equally enjoyed a good BBQ. His wit, laughter and willingness to entertain his family made him the big kid we adored. Ian suffered mentally and physically but his intentions were always good and he loved us all equally, a trait that will be remembered by the family he loved so dearly. We in turn loved him for him, not the mental illness that crept into his life. We will dearly miss the Ian we knew and loved. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Friday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Evangelist Jamie Lobert officiating. Those wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the main gate to the cemetery by 10:45 a.m. To leave a message of condolence you may visit
