Two regional non-profit groups are among 37 selected by the province to receive Civil Society Fund support. The Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta and Canadian Mental Health Association Alberta Southeast Region each received funding for projects which aim to address and reduce current problems Albertans are facing. CFSEA was provided $117,254 for its Endowment Building for Sustainability project, while CMHA received $451,000 for its Community Assisted Response Project. “We are grateful the Government of Alberta sees the value in supporting the charitable sector across the province,” said CFSEA executive director Niki Gray. “Organizations experienced many vulnerabilities during the pandemic and CFSEA is dedicated to providing additional opportunities to secure, predictable, unrestricted funding to ensure long-term sustainability.” CFSEA and CMHA are the first two organizations specifically servicing southeast Alberta to receive CSF funding, which totals $20 million over three years. Applications for the final round of funding are open until Sept. 2. 6
