1931 – PETER VOLK – 2022 Peter Volk of Medicine Hat passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at the age of 90 years. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. with Life Celebrant Pat Grisonich officiating. No interment will take place. The service will be live streamed, and family and friends who are unable to attend are invited to watch the service by searching for the Pattison Funeral Home Youtube page. 1938 – HARVEY HAUSAUER – 2022 Harvey Harold Hausauer passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the age of 83 years, beloved husband of Winn Hausauer. He also leaves to cherish his memory four children, Viv (Kevin) Van Tassell, Phyllis (Sheri) Beckerson, Delbert “Bert” (Sylvia) Hausauer and Ivan (Laurie) Hausauer; twelve grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren as well as numerous brother and sisters-in-laws. He was predeceased by his parents Emma and Reinhold; one granddaughter Shawna; four brothers, Richard, Cecil, David and Victor. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. 1967 – MARNI PRUDEN – 2022 Marni Gaye Margaret Pruden passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at the age of 55 years. KAREN SHAW 1948 ~ 2022 It is with profound sadness that we, the family of Karen Anne Shaw announce her passing at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice, in Medicine Hat on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the age of 73 years. She was born in Grand Forks, BC., living in Salmon Arm and Brooks before settling in Medicine Hat. Karen was proud to have served in the Royal Canadian Navy and became a life long advocate for the Royal Canadian Legion. She was a life time member of the Royal Canadian Legion serving in positions of Vice President of Command, District Commander and Deputy District Commander. Karen’s greatest achievement was the honour of receiving the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) which she accepted in March 2022. She had one of the biggest hearts, loving and caring but took no bull from anyone. Her cats, Charlie, Cindy, Olive and Mike were especially important to her. Karen will be lovingly remembered in the hearts of her children, Wade Filipchuck, Dawn (Dennis) Greenwood and Shawn (Wanda) Knutson; grandchildren, Cherrain Filipchuck, Paul, Katherine and Kimberly Greenwood and Preston Knutson; including her siblings, Jackie (Lou) Haynes and Mark (Anette) Simmons as well as her countless many friends. Karen was pre-deceased by her parents, William and Norma Simmons and her good friend, Ronnie Bishop. A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at the Redcliff Cemetery, Redcliff, Alberta on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend David Carter presiding. A time of fellowship will follow at the Redcliff Legion.
