A Brooks man charged after a woman was found dead in that city is in hospital, court has heard.

Mat Bangoang Choap, 35, was scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on Monday morning to answer to a charge of second-degree murder in the death of Tamara Debbie Soosay, 30.

She was found dead when Brooks RCMP officers were called to an apartment complex in that city on June 22. At that point Choap was arrested.

An RCMP release two days after the incident states that Choap was in custody.

The matter was adjourned until July 11.

More charges in Sask. spree

Two Albertans under arrest after a multi-vehicle car heist from a car lot in Rosetown, Sask. last week, are now facing new charges.

Mounties are still searching for other culprits and vehicles after six vehicles sped away from a car dealership on the morning of June 21.

Lee Falsetta, 36, and Samantha Riggins, 34, both of Red Deer, each face a total of 31 weapons, drugs and stolen property charges after they were arrested near Luseland, Sask that day. Police recovered two vehicles immediately, and two others about 150 kilometres northwest in Luseland after a multi-agency effort.

Kindersley RCMP reported Monday that they have connected the pair to theft of guns in Alberta that occurred in May, as well as a recent break-in at Kindersley.

They were scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
