Registration open for women’s shelter Charity Golf Classic

Golfers get ready to tee off for Medicine Hat Women Shelter Society’s 20th annual Charity Golf Classic, taking place Aug. 31 at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club.

Registration for the tournament is now open. Buy-in is $175 per person or $700 per team.

All proceeds from the event will go toward MHWSS’s Summer Adventure Fun Educational Program, which offers children and youth impacted by family violence a secure and caring summer camp experience.

Event proceeds have even greater impact this year, thanks to the Shaw Birdies for Kids program presented by AltaLink, which matches donations up to 50 per cent.

“Funds raised through the golf tournament have been vital for supporting the programming and services we provide to help keep those fleeing from family violence safe and rebuild their lives,” MHWSS executive director, Natasha Carvalho, said.
