Water, sewer repairs lead to shutdown on Allowance Ave.

Water and sewer repairs are expected to close Allowance Avenue between Ross Street and Balmoral Street for up to five weeks, beginning June 6. The repairs are part of planned capital work by the city.

While sidewalks will remain open to pedestrians, motorists will be detoured around the construction.

Southbound motorists will detour through Balmoral Street, Woodman Avenue and Yuille Street.

Northbound motorists take a longer detour through Prince Street, Princess Avenue, Balmoral Street, Ash Avenue, and Braemar Street.

The city is asking Hatters to respect reduced speed limits through detour zones.
