The Medicine Hat and District Horticultural Association’s annual Plant Sale is returning May 28 after two years hiatus.

“I think everybody’s quite excited,” Marilyn Kusler, Horticultural Association vice president, told the News. “Half of gardening is sharing. When you’ve got too much of this or too much of that, or you have a plant you really like and it’s expanded, then it’s nice to share with other gardeners.”

A variety of plants will be available at the sale, including perennials, annuals, succulents and others. Gardeners of all levels of expertise are welcome.

“It’s one of our major get-togethers and fundraisers in the year,” Kusler said. “So, there should be lots of educated people there who can give new gardeners advice if they need it.”

This year’s sale is being held at Medicine Hat’s historic Ewart Duggan House, located next to the Esplanade. The City of Medicine Hat is offering tours of the house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees can also join in a game of croquet on the Esplanade lawn, during those hours.

The plant sale runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m, or until supply lasts.
